On Wednesday, the uber cool Nikhil Dsouza promises to enthrall you with his flawless voice singing super tunes along with Zohran Miranda on Guitars.
NIKHIL DSOUZA:
A guitarist/ singer-songwriter from Mumbai - The genre might be loosely defined as eclectic acoustic guitar-based pop. Although a relatively small band setup, the music has a full melodic quality to it mainly due to the use of alternative tunings, favored by such artists as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, on most of the tracks.
To quote Nikhil from his myspace page, “Started out playing guitar at the age of 12, or was it 13?.. doesn’t matter. But I remember I started playing because there was no one else to play while I sang. So it’s been 13 years of being in bands as guitarist, mainly, rarely sometimes doing what I like doing best: SING. And then, I gave it up... for a mundane working life, defined by a 9-to-5 existence, working in various geology-related jobs.
Three years later, I don’t quite know what made me change my views about the way I should live the rest of my life—to get back into the music—but I know it happened... and this time, I’m not turning back. Good music is made from a lot of genuine feeling, and if u have the gift to make your audience feel what you’re feeling, then you’re nearly there. I’d like to believe I have that ability.”
