Being Bugged By Insects in Pune? Well, You Are Not Alone!

Don't you feel irritating when you ride a bike or walk down the sidewalk and then get inundated with small, green, gnat-like insects? Not only you but every Punekar is getting bugged by these insects!

The insects are called as Aphid Swarms. These tiny winged aphids cling to the clothing of pedestrians and also coat the windshields of vehicles driving through them. In this period of time they get wings, roam here & there and later for the rest of the year they feel happy to stay on the trees!

As per the entomologists these Aphid Swarms will continue to bug Punekars for next 4-5 days. They're definitely a nuisance but unlike mosquitoes, the aphids do not carry diseases and don't pose a threat to communities beyond being an unpleasant nuisance. :)
