100 Years of Tecahing of German in India | Aug 13 - 19

Currently the German Section of the Foreign Languages Department of University of Pune is celebrating 100 years of German teaching in Pune and India. It was started for the first time in India way back in 1914 in New English School & Fergusson College, Pune. Since then German has become a permanent component of the academic scenario in Pune.

German cinema has been a permanent feature of the academic & cultural activities organized from time to time. The collaborative partnerships among the Film and Television Institute of India, Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune and University of Pune have contributed to fruitful interactions. 

As part of the Centenary Celebrations a series of German Films showcasing hundred years of German Cinema is being jointly organized by Max Mueller Bhavan, Pune, the German Section of the Department of Foreign Languages, Pune University and the FTII, Pune from 13.08.-19.08.2014.

The film-series will be a unique opportunity for the Cineastes from Pune to watch German Films from the silent Era to current times.

All Films will be screened in the main auditorium of the FTII, Pune and are open to all. All Films will have English Subtitles.
