Kayani Bakery

A traditional blue cardboard box of shrewsberry biscuits from Kayani Bakery should be declared as the official Puneri gift by the Pune visitors to their foody friends and family back home.

Kayani Bakery is located on east-street opposite Victory cinema in Camp. It was started by Parsi brothers Hormuz and Khodayar Irani in the year 1955. They migrated from Iran before 1947 and settled in Pune and now provide delicious food items to the Punekars and the Pune visitors.

It is one of the most crowded eateries of Pune. People jostle to lay their hands on the fresh breads, cakes and biscuits! The bakery is successfully providing an ambiance of
100-year-old bakery even after renovation. Once you enter the bakery you will see a long list of food items available. You might get confused about what to buy. So, here is the list of eatables which you shouldn’t miss at kayani Bakery - Shrewberry biscuits (You just can’t miss it!), Plain Mawa cake (It melts in your mouth.. completely..Yums!), Flavoured cakes, Ribbon Cakes, Walnut Fudge Cake, Cheese Papdi, Brazilnut biscuits and the fresh Cream Roll Puff… *Drooling*

It is said that the bakery used to ration the shrewsberry biscuits as the demand was very high. Today the bakery sells around 200-250 kilos of Shrewsberry biscuits everyday!

The bakery owner and the workers are very strict with the opening and closing time. Yes, The Puneri tradition! Last time I checked the bakery timings were 7:30am - 1pm & 3:30pm - 8pm (Mon-Sat). So make sure you keep watch on your watch before you go to the bakery, so you won’t return empty handed. Here is the telephone no. 020 26360517
